Atsugi Ayu Festival

[Information] This is Atsugi's largest event, held in mid-summer. Many different events are included as part of the festival, including parades and an ayu catching contest. Large fireworks displays light up the summer sky, drawing hundreds of thousands of spectators.

Iiyama Cherry Blossom Festival
[Information] The Cherry Blossom Festival is a fun and exciting event held when the cherry blossom trees in Iiyama Hakusan Forest Park are in full bloom. The "Cherry Blossom Portable Shrine" carried by a group of geishas adds flowers to the festival.

Atsugi Greenery Festival
[Information] The Greenery Festival, held every year in late April, features many different events highlighting the bounty of nature, including the customary plant giveaways, gardening classes that parents and children can enjoy together, and tree and flower sales. A wide variety of activities are planned for the Flower and Greenery Stage, including harmonica and other musical performances, various performances by civic groups, and special character shows for children.

Azalea Festival
[Information] This festival is named after the Astugi city flower, the azalea. It features a wide range of flower-related events that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike.

Atsugi River Fureai Festival
[Information] Held near the water, this festival provides opportunities to learn more about the organisms that live in river habitats and to experience the culture and history around our rivers, such as the fishing industry. Events will be held to highlight the ways parents can use rivers to raise children with healthy minds and bodies. These events include ayu catching contests and lessons in traditional fishing methods.

Citizens' Art and Culture Festival
[Information] This festival includes a "Citizens' Culture Festival" to highlight citizens' activities in art and culture and an "Outdoor Sculpture and Formative Arts Exhibition" featuring works by local citizens. A broad range of events that allow people to enjoy the arts and culture are held throughout the fall in various locations around the city.
