Overview of the city -Atsugi's declaration to seek international peace and the abolition of nuclear weapons-

The eternal peace of the world is our common wish. We must hand down our planet to future generations as a peaceful and beautiful one. To realize international peace, however, mutual understanding and the cooperation of everyone are necessary. We are now required to think and act internationally. To this end, we, the citizens of Atsugi, are seeking to create an “international Atsugi” that is open to the world, firmly wish to see the abolition of nuclear weapons, and closely embrace the Three Principles of Denuclearization and herein declare Atsugi as “a city seeking international peace and the abolition of nuclear weapons.” (Bulletin issued April 1, 1993)
