In case of emergency -What To Do in an Earthquake: 10 Tips-

1. Protect yourself.
If you are injured, it will be more difficult to extinguish flames and evacuate.
It is important to take measures in advance to prevent furniture and other items from falling over.
(Restrooms, bathrooms, and closets are relatively safe places to take refuge.)

2. Extinguish flames even if there are only small tremors.
It is important to get in the habit of doing this.
Avoid placing flammable materials near open flames.

3. Open doors to secure an exit.
It is especially important for people who live in taller apartment buildings to secure an exit.
If you do not have an escape route, you will not be able to evacuate.

4. Put out fires quickly.
Even if a fire breaks out, there is no need to panic unless it spreads to the ceiling.
(Always keep a fire extinguisher handy.)

5. Don't panic and run outside.
It is often safer to be inside than outside.
After protecting yourself during the quake and then extinguishing flames, take a moment to assess the situation before heading outside.
(Outside you could be hit by falling bricks, glass, or signs.)

6. Do not walk down narrow roadways or near cement block walls.
If you are outside, evacuate immediately to a designated building or park.
Avoid walking in areas where there could be falling objects or where cement block walls could topple over.

7. Beware of landslides, mudslides, and tsunamis.
Being familiar with the natural environment around your home is important for preventing secondary disasters.

8. Evacuate on foot.
Avoid disorderly evacuation. Act together with others in your autonomous disaster preparedness group.[Confirm.] Take as little with you as possible.

9. Cooperate with others to provide emergency relief activities.
If many people are injured, there will be limits to what the hospitals can do.
It is important to develop local emergency relief activity systems.
(Call out for help if you come across an elderly person, child, or physically handicapped person who needs help, and work with others to assist them.)

10. Get accurate information.
Seek out accurate information from radio broadcasts, city hall, or autonomous disaster preparedness organizations, and take appropriate action.
(Do not listen to false information or rumors.)
